The program cannot reach the server (for example, from Russia)
The program works with its own server (api.exileassistant.com, Cloudflare). From Russia, the site and the program’s server do not open for everyone, and the program needs the server to download, update, check the licence and install features. Quick check: open https://api.exileassistant.com/v1/game/status in a browser — if a line of text appears, the program will connect too. The game itself and already installed changes do not need the server.
Can I get banned?
Changing game files may be against the rules of Grinding Gear Games. We cannot guarantee that there will be no sanctions. Exile Assistant changes local visual files and does not access the game process or memory.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. What do I do?
The installer is not signed with a paid certificate yet, so SmartScreen does not know the publisher. Choose More info → Run anyway. The updater verifies the developer signature of every app release before installing it.
Do I need administrator rights or to disable antivirus?
No. The app installs into your user folder and normally works without administrator rights. If Windows denies access to the game folder, the app tells you what to do. Only the FPS check asks for Windows permission: PresentMon from Intel, which counts the game’s frames, needs it.
How do I undo everything?
Close the game and choose Factory reset. The official game files are downloaded and restored. No licence is required.
Why does Path of Exile 2 get blurry in busy fights?
In a heavy fight the graphics card cannot keep up with all the effects. With Dynamic Resolution on, the game lowers the resolution for a while and stretches the picture back, so it looks blurry. Exile Assistant removes part of the effects (fog, ground effects, the particle groups you choose), which takes load off the card. We do not promise a specific result.
Does Exile Assistant remove the trails and smeared edges of DLSS, FSR and XeSS?
Not directly: the program does not change Upscale Mode. But trails mostly show on particles and transparent effects. With fewer of them there is less to smear, and the spare FPS may be enough for a sharper Image Quality.
Which game settings help against blur?
Turn off Dynamic Resolution. In Image Quality choose Quality or NVIDIA DLAA rather than Performance. The details, with the game’s own setting names, are in the settings guide.
How do I know whether a preset helps on my computer?
Run the FPS check in the program: first on the unchanged game, then with the preset, on the same map. The program shows before and after. The check is free and works in the Windows version.
What happens after a game patch?
Presets whose files the patch did not touch keep working. The ones the patch really changed are greyed out in the client until an updated version is published. The program shows what does not work yet.
Steam verified the game files and my changes are gone. What now?
This happens after Steam verifies the game files or after a game update. The program shows it. Close the game, press Factory reset and install the changes again.
How is the program updated?
At start the client checks for a new version and offers to update. The updater verifies the developer signature of every release before installing it.
How do I get a licence?
Open Licence in the client and send the public activation key to the owner through Telegram, Discord or e-mail.
Does Exile Assistant collect personal data?
It does not collect your name, e-mail address, game account or personal files. Licence checks use irreversible device hashes.
